I made my papa so proud just before they left: I asked him to teach me how to tie a tie. I'm getting pretty good at it, although I am having troubles w/ the length, I'm getting the little knot thing down. *is proud of self* I also think I really like the look of the 'cravat' on me; it's tres sophisticated.

My streak of pissing off people has not ended. No, I managed to piss off my cat. I have no clue how. I've been loving and sweet and waking up early just to feed her and everything. I even cleaned her catbox. But noooo, she hates me and wants nothing to do w/ me unless it involves her claws and my tender flesh.

In other news, it appears I have a new betaee! Woohoo! I <3 betaing, but I've been having a string of bad luck lately. Now I have even more stories to make bleed lovingly beta. Thanks therealmccoy1!!!

Oh look! Sassy's paying attention to me! You know what this means, right? Yup, she thinks it's lunch time and that I should feed her. As soon as I bend to her will, however, she will cease all contact w/ me until she again needs me. I think she blames me from the sudden and mysterious disappearance of her parents (who won't be back for 2.5 whole days *woe*).

W00t! Counting today, there are only FIVE more days until I am whisked away to NYC!! FIVE! I'm actually more excited about being w/ my Pheny than I am about going to New York. I miss her. :( :( :( I still can't wait to see New York, though. NEW YORK!!!

If anyone has any suggestions of things to do in NYC, lemme know!

Was reading about wolf populations in Yellowstone. Apparently, there are nearly 150 wolves in the park. Yup. That's quite a lot of wolves considering that we're going on a night time tour where they shut off all the lights.

I'm seriously going to get eaten by a wolf. Like Xander, I am moist and delicious. The 8th of February will be the last time anyone will ever hear from me.

And I'd always envisioned death by car in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

This just in: Just got a package in the mail from Phen! It was a whole bunch of goodies she got me whilst she was on her Greece trip. It included a bunch of Greek chocolates (and a Kinder Bueno bar, which is just nummy), an I ♥ NYC chocolate bar, a statue of liberty eraser, a small bottle of Oyzo, and two bars of Greek soap. She also threw in a CD of Buffy music! Isn't she the best BFF ever?

That meme that randomly generates pictures based on your interests. Normally I wouldn't post this except...the tattoo of Eyghon? IS MY ASS!!! Yup, that's MY tattoo, ladies and gentlmens.

I have absolutely no idea what most of the those interests are supposed to be, so never mind them, just go look at the wonder that is my rear end (okay, actually it's more technically my lower back/hip region, but it's still on my ass).

+ I am thankful for Alton Brown because he didn't let me down and his Best Ever Green Bean Casserole was, in fact, the "best ever." I am also thankful for him because cooking a turkey per thermometer probe instead of time made for the Best Turkey Ever. No, really. Amazing.

+ Speaking of turkey...I'm thankful for my neighbour for winning a turkey in a bowling game and giving it to us.

+ I am thankful for Bon Appetit for the amazing pecan pie recipe. So delish. Yes, ishtaritu, I have eaten a piece for you.

+ I am thankful that the oven didn't fuck up and kill my latest dishes.

+ I am thankful for having such an amazing mother who is a joy with whom to cook and uses terms like "Alton Brown wouldn't lead us astray," and "What do you think Alton would do?"

+ I am thankful for a family who does nothing more than laugh when they realize that--oops!--the stuffing had been forgotten.

+ I am thankful for my many wonderful friends. (see? i totally put a mushy one in! i so rock!)

Also? I'd forgotten what a laugh riot This Is Spinal Tap is. <3

As a side note to show how dorky I am in my love for Alton, Phen sent me a little build-a-bear chef's outfit w/ embroidery on the toque deeming it "Alton Bear."

Since I'm mentioning gifts, I've been trying to sit on this and be dignified, but I just can't! hollydb gave me the awesomest BtVS collectible doll set ever. It's a Willow and Tara set complete with magic potions and??? MISS KITTY FANTASTICO!!! She's likely my favourite BtVS character; at least, she's the one about whom I write the most. ;) *cuddles holly to itty bitty bits of holly...but in the cute, not painfully-gross/grossly painful way*

Now, on to my current goal of not barfing. Will travel to Hamilton to see G-ma tomorrow and leave Sat. Spending Sat. night w/ aunt raedene and g-ma wanda.

Taking a page from malnpudl's book, I decided to do a little flist trimming. It was mostly just cutting back on comms, which I hardly ever read these days. The few people I trimmed were those who'd not been on LJ for ages (I kept phendog friended...just in case she decides to come back *whimper*) and/or those whose names I didn't recognize. I also got rid of the people who didn't have me friended back. Yeah, I know I always say "you don't have to friend me back" when I ask people if I could friend them, but it's a complete and utter lie, lol...especially when you're journal's all flocked and stuff.

I normally wouldn't say anything, as if you're reading this, you're still here. However, I double-checked the little boxes, and one of the people I'd accidentally marked for defriendification was hollydb, whom I absolutely adore. *clings* So, while I did double-check, I possibly did something silly like that, so if I did erroneously defriend you (i hate that phrase; it sounds just like tossing away people), PLEASE let me know!

I'm going to, I hope, start participating more on my flist so I don't get cut. *grin*

Also, family and I went to Virginia City to see a vaudeville act...sadly, though, a transformer or whatever blew, so the entire city lost power for hours. Because of this, the show was all canceled and stuff. :( :( :(

On our way back from VC, we ran into do a horrible hail storm. The hail thingies were the size of those large gumballs you get out of the machines. Luckily, no hail damage to the car, although I was totally envisioning them breaking through the windshield. Add to that the fact that the visibility was nil, and you had one very nervous EB.

I am feeling really weird and anxious and paranoid and my mind is racing even though my body's lethargic. This is what I get for only getting 2.5 hours of sleep. I am a very bad elizabuffy. But the fanfic was just too much to resist. *grin* I really wish I hadn't gone to VC and instead stayed home in my nice, warm, comfy bed with a gorgeous kitten to snuggle.

I have to go walking, but I don't wanna. *pout* *whine* *moan*
